Modern art, or Contemporary Art as it is sometimes called is a way of looking at the world and putting a personal spin on what you see. Modern art can be spooky, funny, strange or mysterious.

This site is a great place to start. There are links to help you understand the ideas of particular artists, and places to go to help you find a bunch of information about the movement and the people and places that make up "Modern Art" for class or just for fun.

Back before the internet, people had to go to the places where modern art was displayed, Museums, Galleries, sometimes inside people's houses! This involved travel, even to other countries. Other options included looking at reproductions in books or magazines, many time these pictures of pictures were old and faded. Some were not even in color. Now we can seach the World Wide Web for images and stories about the art that helps describe our selves and our times.
